On 5 May 2015, the Regional Telecommunications Independent Review Committee was established by the Australian Government to undertake the 2015 Regional Telecommunications Review. The legislated Review is conducted every three years to consider the adequacy of telecommunications services in regional, rural and remote parts of Australia. This includes whether people in these areas have equitable access to services that are important to them.
You may be interested to learn that the Committee has released an Issues Paper inviting submissions from the public and interested stakeholders on key issues affecting people in regional, rural and remote parts of Australia. The Issues Paper is available online at www.rtirc.gov.au/issues-paper/
Submissions are due by Wednesday, 15 July 2015.
