Culture and creativity is an increasing driving force of economic development both locally and internationally. The Creative Industries are at the crossroads of the arts, business and technology. They straddle economic, political, social, cultural and technology and play a significant role in contributing to society and the economy.

Acknowledging the important contribution of the creative industries to our State, the NSW Government established the annual NSW Creative Achievement Awards. The Awards recognise outstanding achievements that help raise the global profile of NSW creative industries.

The inaugural NSW Creative Achievement Awards were held in 2014 and have already made their mark in recognising some of the best of the State’s creative talent.

We are now encouraging nominations in the following categories for the 2017 Awards:

  • The prestigious NSW Creative Laureate recognises an individual, team or organisation making a positive contribution to the global profile, growth and development of NSW creative industries.
  • The NSW Emerging Creative Talent Awardhonours an individual, team or organisation emerging in a creative industries sector. The Award recognises leadership in originality and innovation and offers support for future development with a prize of $15,000.

Information about the Awards, including Terms and Conditions and the Nomination Form, can be found at www.nswciawards.com.au.

Nominations close on Sunday 9 April 2017.

Finalists will be announced in the weeks leading up to the 2017 Creative Achievements Awards ceremony, which will be held on 14 June 2017, during Vivid Sydney.
