“The Back to the Track: regional racing grants program provides up to $20,000 for projects, events and programs that build and enhance connections with existing communities and foster new and stronger connections with regional communities,” Kevin Humphries said.

Examples of projects could include:

  • new racing events oriented towards new markets
  • sport and community events held at racecourses showcasing an alternative use for the track to support tourism and/or promotion of the racecourse as a venue for the community
  • youth or targeted training and education programs to foster local career pathways in racing.
