With community sport and recreation activities returning as COVID-19 restrictions ease, the NSW Government has announced a $27.3 million Community Sport Recovery Package to help the sector get back on its feet.

The recovery package announced will ensure that organisations survive the crisis and will help get the millions of NSW residents back participating activities they love in a COVID safe environment.

With 5.4 million adults and 900,000 children participating in sport and recreation as well as 415,000 volunteers and 30,000 employees, the pandemic has placed a major strain on the resources and operations of community sport and recreation organisations.

This funding is in addition to the $35 million of grant programs scheduled for 2020/21, the $127 million continued investment in the Active Kids program for 2020/21, and the previously announced NSW Government COVID-19 economic stimulus package, which provides financial support for businesses across NSW.
