DONATED WATER TO UNINCORPORATED AREA – FAR WEST NSW

Regional Development Australia Far West are working with a number of partners to make available desperately required water to the Unincorporated Area of Far West NSW.

A group of Murrumbidgee farmers have donated a generous quantity of water to the Far West NSW farmers. These farmers have purchased water on the open market and donated it to support the sustainability of farmers in Far West NSW. All of the people that have donated this water are horticultural farmers and family owned farms.

Essential Water are working to establish new stand pipes that will make access more efficient and reduce the costs associated with water carting. It is anticipate these new stand pipes will be completed in the near future, however water is now available through the existing infrastructure.

The intention of this donation from the Murrumbidgee farmers is to support critical stock and domestic needs.

This water is being made available free of charge to people in the Unincorporated Area and Central Darling Shire, however users will be responsible for the costs associated with transport.

RDA Far West recognise and sincerely thank the farmers in the Murrumbidgee region, who themselves are struggling through the drought for their recognition and support of Far West NSW. Additionally RDA Far West would like to thank Essential Water, Broken Hill City Council and Central Darling Shire Council for their support in ensuring this water has been made available as quick as possible.
