Grants to boost exercise in the community

About one-third of the Australian population does not participate in activity for exercise purposes. Men and women in their mid-20 to mid-30s are the most active, and people over 65 the least active.

Now, in order to increase participation in sport or structured physical activity, and to assist sport clubs provide a quality service to members, Sport and Recreation has allocated $50,000 in grants within each distinct NSW electorate.

Grants of up to $2,000 are available for sport club development; up to $5,000 for community sport events or sport access; and up to $25,000 for facility development and capital equipment.
