Dear Business Owner,

WaterNSW invites local businesses and suppliers to attend an information session on opportunities relating to the Murray to Broken Hill pipeline. Construction of the 270km pipeline is expected to start later this year, creating up to 200 jobs and associated business opportunities across industries such as logistics, transport, materials and hospitality.

Early estimates indicate spending in the local community could be between $30 to $42 million during construction of the pipeline.

The session will provide a forum for local businesses to hear from, and establish relationships with, the shortlisted contractors, Downer Spiecapag Joint Venture, John Holland Joint Venture, McConnell Dowell, and UGL/Veolia, prior to award of contract in the third quarter of 2017.

Information will be provided on what the shortlisted contractors are looking to source locally, and the recruitment process and requirements, to prepare interested businesses for the start of construction.

Two sessions will be held:

  • Broken Hill Information Session – 12 noon – 3pm on Thursday 22 June at the function rooms behind Thyme on Argent Café, Demo Club.
  • Wentworth Information Session– 12 noon – 3pm on Friday 23 June at the Wentworth Tennis Club, on Beverley Street (Wentworth Sporting Complex).
