The Roadshow is an initiative of Macquarie’s LEAP (Learning, Education, Aspiration, Participation) program, which aims to raise aspirations, create possibilities, and actively support students from disadvantaged backgrounds to successfully participate in higher education. A team of academics, professional staff and student representatives including Diamonds Squad Member and Giants Netballer Kiera Austin and Broken Hill locals Hayley Dowling and Bailey Beattie, will be travelling to Broken Hill and facilitating a range of school and community engagement events from 24 – 27 November 2020
Tuesday 24th November
• 9 am – 2 pm- “A Taste of University” – Alma Street Public School
• 4 – 6 pm Professional Development for Teachers Course – “Neuroscience of Learning. Understanding how our brains learn is essential for all teachers” at CUC Far West
• 4 – 6 pm Career Information Session at the Broken Hill Musicians Club
Wednesday 25th November
• 9 am – 2 pm- “A Taste of University” and LEGO Educational – Burke Ward Public School
• 11:30 – 2 pm – “A Taste of University” at the School of the Air
• 4-6 pm Shoot Sporting and Educational Goals with Kiera Austin Diamonds Squad Member, and Giants Netballer at the O’Neill Park Sporting Complex
Thursday 26th November
• 7 – 8 am Meet & Greet with Kiera Austin at the Broken Hill Trades Hall
• 9 am – 2 pm “A Taste of University” & LEGO Educational” – Morgan Street Public School
• 4-6 pm MQ Friendly Touch Football Round Robin at Picton Oval
