The National Awards for Local Government is an annual celebration of Australian local government achievements. The Awards recognise the important role of local governments in delivering targeted quality services to Australians in urban and regional communities. Through the Awards, the Australian Government celebrates local government projects that are innovative, deliver better outcomes for communities, have the potential to be rolled out across the country and that make a meaningful difference to their regions.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, the Hon Warren Truss MP announced the Category Winners and Highly Commended projects for this year’s Awards on 21 April 2015.
