Outback Astronomy invites the greater Broken Hill community to participate in the attempt at the Guinness World Record for Most People Stargazing Across Multiple Sites in a Country at Outback Astronomy’s home base at the Racecourse, Broken Hill on Friday 21 August 2015.
Invite your friends and family in to help reach the target of at least 3,000 people across the country. You can either bring your own telescope or there will be small, commemorative telescopes (about the same size Galileo used!) available for before the event via your local representative (anticipated cost is a gold coin donation). Warm clothing is recommended.
There will also be a sausage sizzle at the Race Course to raise funds for race course maintenance program and local community organisation. Visitors and campers welcome (there is a fee if people camp at Race Course).
Further information on how to obtain your souvenir telescope and other exciting news will be posted, so check https://www.outbackastronomy.com.au
